I can’t find that old Ellen DeGeneres routine online, but it also includes her belief that a leopard with no legs falling out of a tree onto your head would be scary.
Good strip.
When I read “cat lady”, I just couldn’t help but picture The Simpson’s Cat Lady throwing cats to Mulder and Scully.
Good point about the shows budget. The cats made this episode so much fun.
(First time posting here. I’ve had so much fun reading this. Began watching The X-Files this year [finishing the 3rd season]. Began reading the strip some weeks ago.)
Also: “The victim was a young Asian male, very muscular, with a single pigtail on the back of his head. It looks almost like…. he was FRIGHTENED to death!”
Aw, you left out the bit with the blood dripping out of the entrails in the trees. Honestly, this episode is the X-Files that scared me more than any other, especially when they shine the flashlight into the room filled with cats. I didn’t see it coming.
I can’t decide which would look better on a t-shirt: the “rawr” panel or the one of the writer with a pained expression asking “How can we fix this crap?”
My husband wants them both, and the gift-giving season is almost upon us.
I like the Scully and Mulder in a pile of cats panel myself. I remember this was one of the Few X Files I watched at the time and I was all “like, WTF?”.

*hurls cats as she shouts at them gibberish*
Some of these, I want to go out and watch as soon as I read the comic. Some, I don’t, because there’s no way it’ll be as cool as the comic.
There’s no way that episode could live up to this comic.
Yep, not a chance.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! purrrrrrrrrrfect!
I loved the little nod to Anderson’s allergy.
+1. So funny and so… Phile-y.
Dammit, I was to busy cracking up at the first line to crack up at the second line properly!

Is that Sir Pounce at the top left in Panel 10?
Liked the “Ronnie’s Pizza” reference
I was so going to write that.

Well, you could put one on the front of the t-shirt and the other on the back.
or, if you don’t mind smaller writing/pictures

hopefully I’ve got the panel numbers right.
Actually, you could probably fit “Monster of the Week” and “www.shaenon.com/monsteroftheweek/” in with panel one (maybe?).

A missed opportunity to drape a sausage necklace around Mulder and teach him the neko ken.
neko ken
I had been eagerly awaiting your treatment of this one, and you did not disappoint in any way.
I love the writers
