I was starting to worry that The X-Files was getting too good and I’d run out of things to make jokes about. Then this vampire thing came up in the queue. Saved again!
I never understood why 3 is considered bad, I actually think it’s rather underrated. Mulder’s shaving scene is HOT HOT HOT, the Son on fire was pretty gross and Mulder wearing Scully’s cross at the end was really sweet.
BUT. I laughed SO HARD at Mulder’s “Sniff! Krycek…” comment. SO hilarious!
Man, there is a lot of red in this episode. So much red it is all over you screen!
Having a murder suspect whose name is ‘Kilar’ is a little on the nose, isn’t it? Though she was innocent, so I guess her middle name was ‘Nota’.
When Mulder goes to the BDSM club and it’s Club Tepes, I thought, “Oh, come on, there’s a vampire-themed sex club in Los Angeles? Wait, no, that’s actually pretty plausible.”
While this ep was indeed not just stupid, but mega-stupid, at least the writers let the girl come up with a clever plan. Okay, the writers had an extremely stupid episode solely so the girl can make the clever plan work.
I can almost see the vampire chick in panel 8 thinking, “Well, you’re obviously an FBI agent or something… but on the other hand, you look just like David Duchovny. … Yeah, sure, we can do this.”
Hey, I totally love the terrible vampire episode! But that’s mostly because it’s a terrible vampire episode. I mean, it’s really, really horrible – and I was watching Kindred: The Embraced concurrently with X-Files, so I think I know from horrible vampire episodes.
But I miss Scully too. She’s totally why I watched X-Files, and neither Mulder nor Krycek did much for me, like, ever. I think I’m in the minority on XF watchers, though.
At least none of them sparkled!
never saw it but looks to make as much sense as Fatal attaction.
*SOB!* Krycek…
Poor Molder.

Great, now I’m hungry for blood sammiches.
I feel I was remiss in not pointing out how awesome ‘NOSH’ is as a sound effect.
Hey, Unity keeps talking about sammich day-maybe these were what she had in mind?
These strips are so great.
Point of order: Unity talks about ‘sammiches’

Absolutely love these comics! Just powered through them all and can’t wait for more 🙂
