A lot happens in this episode, some good and some bad, but Mulder physically overdosing on information about aliens and Scully not trying very hard to look for a U.F.O. barely submerged in the water next to her is right on brand for both characters.

A fair chunk of this episode takes place before Mulder & Scully are brought into the case, which makes the amount of X-File crammed into the rest of it even more impressive.
I enjoyed Scully telling Fowley and Skinners that they were both liars.
When I was a kid, I read a book called ‘The Directory of Possibilities’ cover to cover multiple times — it was basically a short, credulous encyclopedia of every crackpot or fringe theory around, with not a lot of attention paid to how any of it fit together. This episode kind of reminded me of that. Panspermia! Mass extinctions! The Bible coming from another planet via tablets written in Navaho, why not?
Those aliens teleported an H out of “prehistoric”! The FIENDS!
Bri’ish pronounciation.
