Similarly, Communists don’t exist in the sense of an existential threat to America by their very existence, as were being sought in the 1950s.
The Red Scare saw a lot of innocent people’s lives ruined out of irrational fear and paranoia, and in a lot of cases said innocent people were scapegoats chosen because their accusers stood to profit off their ruin.
The communists who were being persecuted in the ’50s by Cohn, McCarthy, and HUAC were for the most part harmless socialistic idealists. Trust me, I’m old.
I am no kind of socialist; Nazi, Demzi, or otherwise. I know of no person who was unjustly “persecuted” for Communist ties. If Cohn, McCarthy, HUAC, et al. had been given the support they needed to protect this country, it would be far better off today- so would the whole world. What I *am*, Vincent, is an American patriot.
First off, Nazism has nothing to do with Socialism, despite their calling themselves “National Socialists”. In fact, one of the pillars of Fascism is the outright rejection of Communism and Socialism.
Secondly, as a foundational principle of America, the people you dehumanize as “ticks” are innocent until proven guilty. You would think “an American patriot” would know that. Personally, I think you sound more like an American Psychopath.
To me this was one of the worst episodes – depending so much on flashback and making little narrative sense – that the only good thing out of it was getting the word out that Roy Cohn was an evil sonofabitch.
“Witch hunter”? Could have sworn Communists actually existed…
So do witches.
Not in the sense of magic-performing Satanists, as were being sought.

So yeah, a witch hunt.
So true!
Joseph Stalin, Malenkov,
Nasser and Prokofiev,
Rockefeller, Campanella,
Communist bloc
Roy Cohn, Juan Peron,
Toscanini, Dacron,
Dien Bien Phu Falls,
Rock Around the Clock

Many ticks *don’t* spread Lyme disease… but just to be safe, it’s best to steer clear of them *all*.
Okay, thank you for that nazi metaphor.

My law applies here, I’m afraid.
