Okay, so I just did this so I could draw Crying Jack.
Terry O’Quinn is an awesome actor. If you’ve never seen him in the 1980s thriller The Stepfather, you need to do that now. He’s the best evil-sociopath-unconvincingly-and-creepily-acting-normal short of Christian Bale in American Psycho. Or, alternately, Christian Bale.
The woman who plays the possessed cop, Deborah Strang, does a really good job of transforming from regular to evil. She doesn’t seem to have had a big career, which is too bad.
Is there a ‘Z’ missing in panel 4 or did I miss a new meme? I’m old, so probably the latter.
“Cray” as in short for “cray-cray,” as in long for “crazy.”
I swear I think kids make these new terms up just to mess with the grumps…
Don’t you mean the “grups?” (Or am I showing my age?)
yes I did
Oops, this is episode 12, not 11.
And I’m afraid this one was a bit lost (ha) on me, since I never watched Lost. I have to say I prefer the strips where you stay inside the fiction of the show, rather than look at the show from the point of view of a TV viewer. (But that’s just my opinion.)
This is was hilarious! As both a huge X-Files fan (I was a local commercial for it in middle school and still got recognized for that college) and Lost fan this is by my favorite strip yet!
Hurley would have said “Dude, what’s the deal with the knife?”
Sun would have gotten all teary and whined.
Ana would have said “screw this” and shot her.
Great single-panel summation of why I always liked Juliet.
There can never be enough Kate-hatin’. the only thing you left out was that she would have also taken and lost a gun.
What would Hurley do?
A year or two ago I watched a bunch of ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ episodes, and Terry O’Quinn is in one of them as Riker’s old commanding officer, so now I can consider which of the different Lost characters would make a good admiral. Ben is a little too crazy and evil even for Star Fleet command, I think.
Definitely good Cardassian or Vorta material, though.
Vorta! My friends and I could never remember that name, so we called them the Poodle People. We made it a drinking game: you had to shout “Poodle Boy” when Jeffrey Combs came onscreen, then take a drink.
I loved the take on Ben the best. There are just too many layers to it. Sayid’s pretty cool, too (but we can’t have him kill Mulder now, can we?).
Sawyer’s out of competition. He is and will always remain the God of “Lost”.
Terry O’Quinn was also back in season 9 as a super soldier. They should just re-make The X-Files with Terry O’Quinn as every character.
These comic strips make me wish I had the dvds. Or just access to one of those things like hulu or netflix that we don’t get in Australia because the US is so greedy.
Which movie was the good one? I’ve only seen “Fight the Future”, and it was meh IMO.
I swear there were a handful of Season 2 episodes that made me go, “huh?” And this was definitely one of them.
