I only watched X-Files occasionally, and mostly because I thought David Duchovny was hot (also Mitch Pileggi, and, once, Gillian Anderson).
I remember very few episodes, so I’m choosing to believe that they were all exactly as you describe them, because they should have been.
I promise/threaten a filk of “Wonderful, Wonderful” for “Home,” which I wish I didn’t remember. Still creeps me out.
Really? Could I have mistaken Mulder for the woman scientist???
They were all getting paranoid and debating who had to examine whom and they agree to examine each other. Because I only rented the disk to get ahead on these comments, I imagined the woman scientist looked a little more blissful than nescessary at taking her shirt off for Scully and scully unnuscessarily putting her hand on the scientist’s chest (to check the heart-beat?).
Or maybe I just imagined it.
You also left out the dog but I can’t have everything.
“The group splits up into guys and girls, and the guys begin to strip in the main bullpen area. There are pros and cons to this scene. Pro: Shirtless Mulder with – Oh, my – is that a six pack? No, an eight pack? Well done, Agent Mulder. Someone’s been spending a little extra time at the FBI gym. Con: Xander Berkeley, shirtless. That’s a nightmare I could have avoided. Mulder snarks, “Before anyone passes judgment, may I remind you we are in the ‘artic’.” because, apparently, his Cs are still not working properly. Cut to Scully in a tank top examining a shirtless Da Silva in what could surely be misconstrued as a lesbian love scene by the more immature (read: male) members of our audience. But that’s probably what Chris Cater was going for, anyway.”
“Something’s wrong. Mulder’s showing an emotion.” Best. Line. Ever.
Weird. I go to Skin Horse every day and somehow missed this comic. I just happened to notice it’s link today. Adult ADD, I guess. So glad I did. Thanks!!

Hey, you didn’t say anything about the part where Scully had to do a physical exam of the woman scientist!
I watched that episode three times for this strip, and I don’t recall that scene at all. I only remember the part where Mulder takes his shirt off.

*Phew* I thought I was going crazy! Now I find out that Shaenon just was distracted three times by the shirtless Mulder imediately before…
Ph
I didn’t realize the scientist was Felicity Huffman!
Suspicious Guy is Xander Berkeley, who has played a paranoid/suspicious guy in every show ever made.
I love your comments on Scully’s hair. So true.
This cartoon’s pretty cute:
